Introduction The healing nature of light has been known since the dawn of mankind. Light energy, Heat (appropriate temperature), Atmosphere, along with Water, and Nutrients, optimises cellular metabolism and provides stimuli for metabolic processes to take place and initialises rejuvenation for all living organisms. History & Background The Greeks and Romans both understood that sunlight could play some remedial capacity although there was little understanding of why it was happening. As early as 1903, the Danish Physician Niels Finsen Ryberg was awarded Nobel Prize for his work on light therapy. Nicola Tesla in the early 1900's developed a Neon Light that was used as a stimulus in botany where a few photons of 660 nm have a significant structuring function; they trigger DNA synthesis, which leads to, among other things, formation of buds. Einstein came up with the first idea of Laser. What is IPL? It refers to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) administered gently. It is an exciting new procedure that has taken the public and, particularly the medical aesthetic world, by surprise. It is designed to combat the effects of aging and exposure to sun and much more. It offers a safe, non invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing superior cosmetic results and outstanding satisfaction. How is IPL performed? Dr Georghy’s revolutionary technique uses no gel or cooling device. The sparkling, pulsed light is delivered from a distance and through special crystals. This allows its rejuvenating energy to reach the skin, which Dr Georghy claims promotes remedial biological effects. The doctor is the first in the world to use this concept, and his reasoning is simple. 1f there were no sun, there would be no life on earth," he says. "All living organisms and plants get light energy from a distance. Why should 1 not deliver light energy in a similar manner to the sun? All 1 did was, copy Mother Nature." He calls his technique 'Distant IPL' or 'Sydney technique’. The entire treatment as conducted by Dr Georghy lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes and is a combination of several light therapies. You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band. An anaesthetic cream may be used, but is seldom required. Most patients report no pain and there is no downtime. Some 30 per cent of Dr Georghy's patients report mild redness that disappears within 30 minutes. Why are multiple treatments necessary? Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of six to eight treatment sessions may be recommended. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk and, it preserves the wonderful "no downtime" feature that people appreciate so much. What are the biological effects? During the last 15 years if clinical experience with PhotoLaser therapy, Dr Georghy observed the following biological effects:
How do other treatments compare to Photorejuvenation? No other treatment can be compared with IPL – Photorejuvenation therapy. While there are lasers that treat re( spots, other lasers that treat browns, and others yet that are used for resurfacing facial skin, no technology provides the long term improvement of complexion and texture of the IPL Photorejuvenation program all without the slightest interruption in your busy lifestyle (1unch time procedure'). While numerous treatments from simple creams to major surgeries exist to improve various facial flaws, skin specialist: have always sought dramatic improvement with low risk and no "downtime." Additionally, many conventional treatment options can only address one condition at a time, while they entail a prolonged recovery time, considerable pain, and potential side effects. What conditions can Photorejuvenation treat?
What part of the body can be treated? Any part of the human body! PhotoLaser rejuvenation therapy improves both the superficial and deeper skin layers and rejuvenates the skin while at the same time delivering beneficial thermal energy to deep tissue (facial fat pads, muscles and skeletal structures). Conclusion Dr Georghy states that, PhotoLaser Therapy is the most revolutionary medical and cosmetic treatment since the discovery of immunisation and penicillin and we are only just beginning to understand its potential. PhotoLaser Therapy stimulates Angiogenesis formation of new blood vessels: The key factor in tissue rejuvenation. As a result there are numerous biological effects discussed above. Further research is required to sophisticate our ability to utilise its full medical potential. Back to Top |
